a cool way to iron your clothes

Check out this awesome ironing board/mirror. It also has really cool looking legs. A long time ago I saw this competition on making something multi-functional, particularly ironing boards. I don't know know if this French guy, Aïssa Logerot, entered this contest, but I hope he did. Speaking of which, it might be a good idea for someone to invent a coffee table that doubles as an ironing board. The idea would involve: taking all of your things OFF the coffee table (like magazines, remote controls, coffee mugs, books, papers, plates, newpapers, note pads, netflix dvd's, regular music cd's, bills, letters, napkins, animals, coupons, children, toys, and also ice cream dishes. If there is anything else I left out, take that off the coffee table as well. Then, after doing all this, place the article of wrinkled clothing ON TOP of the coffee table, then use that as an ironing board. PRESTO!

Our new favorite desk

Have you been on the lookout for a totally awesome desk for your laptop? Most desks are made for giant desktop computers, but I find that less and less people are actually using desktops. Oh wait, I was about to say that I don't know anyone who has a desktop, but then I just thought of at least 3 people I know very well who has iMacs or something close to that.

Nevermind! But for those of us who prefer more portable computers, this is by far the BEST desk out there for you. Made by Bluelounge, this affordable desk ($600)is especially designed to de-clutter all the wires and cables that make ones work space look, well, kind of like caca! I simply can't stand all the wires and cables and stuff hanging everywhere. We at CLI like neat, simple and clean things. Totally check out this desk; It even ships flat! I totally want one someday! The best thing about it is that you will only have ONE cord to plug in! Wow, this desk really made my day!

P.S. I just found this for a better price at $500 here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/645950-REG/Bluelounge_SD_WH_STUDIO_DESK.html

A couch that inspires

This totally beautiful couch designed by Matthew Hilton for De La Espada is simply divine. Just admire its beautiful legs and inviting and soft-looking seating. It is easy to imagine oneself sitting here with the intention of reading a book or watching television, but instead starring at the sofa! The 350 Hepburn sofa is comfort and style without being presumptuous or snooty. A definite CLI pick!

A new cheese to drool over (well, new for CLI anyway!)

The other day one of the interns at CLI was making herself a sandwich with honey roasted turkey and drunken goat cheese. What an odd combination, we thought! But alas, we were wrong. The intern was generous enough to let one of the editors try a piece of this divine sandwich, and, dare we say, the cheese was quite good! With a mild fruit flavor, it kind of reminds us of a warm Spring day when children rummage through forests in search of pots of gold after chasing a rainbow! In fact, the drunken goat really brightened our day! Of course, the traditional way to enjoy this Spanish cheese is to savor it with olives and perhaps some chorizo!

love at first....light!

We at CLI will never, ever stop ooohing and ahhhing over this beautiful and super cool table lamp by Studioilse (designed by Ilse Crawford). We especially like the red cord. Cords are usually things that should be hidden, but this one is an exception. At $550, it's a bit pricey, but maybe it's on sale somewhere, somehow?
